Since most countries outside the US utilize the metric system, the photo requirements are measured in millimeters, not inches. Passport Images for Any Foreign Country
In a world where the business model of a professional photographer rarely includes running a retail or commercially located studio these days, it is getting harder are harder for consumers to find someone qualified to produce a quality passport photo, particularly ones meant to conform to the strict specifications of foreign countries.
Fortunately for those living in the Tampa / St Pete area, Newsome's Studio of Photography, located at 10012 N. Dale Mabry Hwy in Tampa, is still here to answer those needs.
In business since 1986, Newsome's Studio has built a reputation for high quality portraiture, and that includes Passport Photos!
Among their passport photo services, they provide images for US Passports, as well as any and all foreign country passports, including citizenship photos, immigration photos, residency photos, DV Lottery photos, weapons permit photos, and student ID photos.
While a few drug stores offer passport photo services, they are typically only able to accommodate US passports (2"x2"). Passport photos for foreign countries are much different and are measured in millimeters. Canadian passports, for example are 50x70mm while those from India are 35x35mm. And the UK or British passports are taken on a light gray background while US and most others are on a white background.
Another advantage to having Newsome's Studio create your passport image... they're REAL photographers! That means they use professional lighting equipment - NOT a popup flash on a point and shoot camera! While they are restricted from "retouching" any passport photos, there is absolutely no reason they can't help you look your very best with the use of professional lighting equipment (and yes, it really makes a difference).
